Art Contest Rules:
· All artworks must be two-dimensional. Three-dimensional works will not be accepted due to space.
· Artworks may be any size.
· Artworks may be in any medium. If you choose to work with charcoal or pastels, please spray a clear coat to protect your work and prevent dust.
· Please include your name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the back of the artwork. Do not sign the front of the artwork.
· All artworks must be original. Traced or copied artwork will be disqualified from the contest.
· All artworks must be school appropriate to be considered.

Other Important School Year Information

- Attendance: Please know we value providing ongoing quality academic support. Therefore, if your student has an extended absence, we encourage promptly contacting classroom teachers. Teachers will provide instructional materials, zoom access, or Schoology information as pertinent to that instruction. Also, you are always welcome to contact Beth Stubblefield for attendance questions and/or Nurse Terri Rappe' should you have specific medical questions.
- Tardies: Once a student has five (5) tardies, they will be assigned to Friday Opportunity School. For every tardy students accrue after that, they will be assigned to Friday Opportunity School.
- Students should come to school each day with a charged Chromebook.
- Yearbooks: Order early for the best price!
- GoFan App for Home Games: Saber Fans! Please sign up for the GO FAN app on your smartphone. Search for Sunset Middle School. This covers your home admittance ONLY for every sporting event at Sunset Middle School. Sign Up Today! After the app is downloaded and the family pass has been purchased, give the email address and password to each family member that will be redeeming the tickets. Input the email and password into their phone. Each person will be able to check in separately thru the app if arriving at the event at different times.

Two WCS elementary schools and four middle schools are within the Top 10 highest-ranked schools in Tennessee according to US News and World Report's 2025 Best Elementary Schools and Best Middle Schools lists.
On their first day back after summer break, teachers at Sunset Middle School boarded a bus and hit the road to meet parents, students and community members while collecting bottled water for local charities.
